Obituary of Alan L. Preston

Alan L. Preston, 76, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Private services will be held at a later date. Alan was born in Sparta, WI, on June 10, 1937 to Orville (Mike) and Margaret (O'Hearn) Preston. He married Alyce Fox on July 13, 1957 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Alan worked in the automotive aftermarket and owned and operated NAPA stores in Wisconsin Rapids, Wausau, and Schofield. He loved restoring classic Ford cars, carpentry work, building houses, and cooking for his family. Survivors include his wife Alyce; three daughters: Laurie Preston, Linda Preston and Lisa (Ron) Lee; four grandchildren: Ryan (Heather) Lee, Amanda (Jamie) Miller, Megan (Justin) Paterick, Makayla Lee; one great-granddaughter: Olivia Rose Lee; one brother: Zane (Kathy) Preston; one sister: Cynthia (Preston) Blaschke. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and one brother, Dan Preston.
