Obituary of Helen M. Steidl
Helen M. Steidl, 90, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Harmony Living Center in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 18th at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Sahayanathan Nathan will officiate. Entombment will be in Forest Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
Helen was born in Cashton, Wisconsin on December 2, 1923 to Jacob and Anna (Suhr) Steidl.
Helen was employed by Consolidated Papers Inc. in the paperboard division for 40 years until her retirement in 1986.
She served her country in the Navy during World War II. Helen was a member of the American Legion Post 9.
Helen enjoyed crocheting doilies and other items. She created the Last Supper scene for Our Lady of Heaven Church to display. Helen had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She enjoyed taking photos and taking walks on the Wisconsin River path.
Survivors include three brothers: Walter (Rose) Steidl, Racine, WI; Jerome (Billie) Steidl, Racine, WI; and Eugene (Lori) Steidl, Ontario, CA; two sisters: Leona Leis, Sparta, WI; Julia Kumm, Marshfield, WI; sister-in-law: Janice Steidl, Wisconsin Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard Steidl, sister-in-law, Phyllis Steidl and brothers-in-law Ernest Leis and Elmer Kumm.
