Obituary of Virginia M. Suppanchick

Virginia M. Suppanchick, age 94, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday morning, March 25, 2014 at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Virginia was born April 23, 1919 in Sheboygan, WI to Frank and Mary (Klein) Maurer. She attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School and graduated from Sheboygan High School. She held clerical positions before being united in marriage to Al Suppanchick on February 22, 1941. They made their home in Sheboygan until moving to Wisconsin Rapids in 1998. Al preceded her in death on September 14, 1999. Virginia was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a devout Catholic who prayed her rosary every day as long as she was able. In her younger days she enjoyed country music, singing and playing guitar. Later years would find her playing her keyboard and organ. She was also a gifted seamstress never far from her sewing machine. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Jinalle (Bert) Hansmann, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; granddaughter, Joell (Russ) Booth, Arkdale, WI; step-great-grandson, Andrew Booth, Arkdale, WI; sister-in-law, Dolores (Roman) Slesrick, Sheboygan Falls, WI; nephew, Bruce (Laurie) Jonasen and great-niece Olivia Jonasen, Keil, WI; and nephew, Neil Jonasen, Sheboygan, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Town of Wilson, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Strawberry Lane for all the love, care and attention given to Virginia while under their care. They also wish to thank the priests and lay people who faithfully brought Holy Communion to her, all her friends and family who faithfully remembered her in their prayers, and her dining room friend, Betty, for being such a caring lady.
