Obituary of Mildred Bessie Swonger
Mildred Bessie Swonger, age 73, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the home of her daughter under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Pastor Robert Eberhardt and Perry Pearson will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday.
Mildred was born in the town of Saratoga, WI on February 3, 1941 to Robert and Mildred (Devine) Slauson. She married LeRoy Swonger in 1959. He died September 11, 1995.
Mildred loved God tremendously and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids was on the top of her list. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, doing ceramics, watching rodeos, the Olympics, and was an avid Packer backer. Another favorite thing she enjoyed was country music and at one time she was a member of the CWCMA.
Survivors include her children: Rebecca (LeRoy) Jones; Wendy (Ray) Olson; Teresa (Jim) Halfacre-Hoppe, all of Wisconsin Rapids; Randall (Debbie) Swonger, Colby, WI; Daniel (Wanda) Swonger, Waukesha, WI; James Swonger and Tammy Polansky (Jason Watenpaugh), all of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Jason Jones, Jake Jones, Justin (Cassy) Jones, Elisha (Dan) Kessler, Jessica Swonger, Calvin Olson, Anna Halfacre, Rebecca Halfacre, Corina Swonger, Cuyler Swonger, Joseph Swonger, Abigail Swonger, Caleb Swonger, Matthew DiTillio, Zacheriah Swonger, Wynonna Swonger, David Finley, Amber Polansky, Ashley Polansky, Brandon Watenpaugh; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Donald (Julie) Slauson, Lenora Kiedrowski, Marcia Price, Jeanette (Jerry) Elsen, June Swanson; and in-laws: Roger Penny, and Grace Slauson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings: Doris Penny, Robert Slauson, Daniel (Sybil) Slauson, Berdette Slauson, Alvina (Norman) Stashek; nephew, Jerry Penny; in-laws: Harry Swanson, Ernest Kiedrowski, and Ed Price.
