Ray was born in Chicago, IL on October 29, 1951 to Raymond and Bernadine (Fritz ) Doerrler. He was married on April 22, 1972 to Nancy Getzloff. The marriage ended in divorce.
He was self-employed through Moodie's Trucking, working on land excavating until his retirement in 2009.
Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping with his family, and gardening. His passion was the outdoors and his thirst was for knowledge. He was known for his inventions, creativity, and was the ultimate "handy man" and carpenter. He took great joy in watching the tv show "Deal or No Deal", listening to "oldies" music, and the sounds of nature. Ray played a cunning game of Rummikub, Rook, and out-witted his opponents in Othello. He was a practical man and believed a day couldn't go right without breakfast and coffee. Raymond was a man who was beyond caring and was quick to put others before himself. His presence was comforting and inviting. He truly was not only a friend but a family man; he was a dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle. Above all, he is a man that will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
