Obituary of Thelma L. Walther

Thelma "Teddie" L. Walther, age 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, died late Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Our House Assisted Living. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 10th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Thelma was born in Chicago, IL on March 8, 1928 to Conrad and Anna (Novak) Carlson. She married Clarence Walther on November 28, 1975 in North Lake, IL. Thelma worked in a candy factory and for Cord Specialties making power cords while residing in Illinois. After she and Clarence moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1977 Thelma made a decision to become a full time homemaker. She was a wonderful woman, totally devoted to her husband and family. Thelma enjoyed roller skating, walking, and dancing. Survivors include her husband Clarence, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; six children: Wendy (Roy) Brod, Wilmington, NC; Gary Smid, Addison, IL; Kenneth Walther, TN; Cindy Gliniewicz, IL; James Walther, CO; and Joy Henderson, AZ; seven grandchildren: Robert, Adam, Gregory, Steven, Stacy, Matthew and Tara; one great-grandchild: Avery; one sister: Susan (Dix)Foster , AR. She was preceded in death by her parents.
