Obituary of Allen J. Leitner

Allen Joseph Leitner, 92, Port Edwards, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards. Burial will be at a later date. Allen was born in Marshfield, WI on February 19, 1922 to Joseph and Mary (Schindler) Leitner. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1940. Allen married Helen Yost in February of 1945. She died in June of 2006. Allen served his country in the Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He worked for L.L. Felker and Swift & Co. in Marshfield. In 1957 Allen started working for Consolidated Papers Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids. He remained there until his retirement in 1984. Allen enjoyed fishing and trapping in the Tomahawk area. His favorite hobby was model railroading. He was blessed with two good sons: Roger (Linda) Leitner; Russ (Marge) Leitner, all of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Dawn (Scott) Hurner, Mosinee ; Ryan ( Christina) Leitner, Wisconsin Rapids; Nira (Chad) Fisher, Oxford, WI; brother-in-law: Marvin Yost, Atlanta, GA. Allen was preceded in death by his wonderful wife and his parents. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family.
