Obituary of Darlene Marie Walker

Darlene Marie "Wiha" Walker, age 56, of Nekoosa, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Native American Church Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Chakh-Hah-Chee Community Building in Nekoosa. Gordon Thunder will officiate. Burial will be in Dexterville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 27th from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 P.M. at Chakh-Hah-Chee. Darlene was born September 12, 1957 in Wisconsin Rapids to David Walker Jr. and Yvonne Elizabeth Ricehill Wells. She worked for Little Six Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN and most recently worked as a beverage server at Rainbow Casino in Nekoosa. Darlene had a gentle spirit and was a very dedicated worker. She loved all different kinds of sports, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. Darlene enjoyed Native American Church and Pow-Wows and was a champion Fancy Shawl Dancer. Darlene is survived by two children: Adriane Walker and Tyrone Walker; six grandchildren: Andrew Walker, Alyssa Espinoza, Desmond Walker, Terron Walker, Karleigh Walker, and Izabella Walker; one great-granddaughter, Lisa Marie Ruiz; four brothers: Leonard Walker, Richard (Anita) Walker, Kevin Walker, and David White Eagle; and three sisters: Rose Walker, Jenny (Tom) Sickles and Orvilla White Eagle. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lisa Eagleman. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.
