Obituary of Ervin A. Carolfi

Ervin Carolfi, 85, Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Arborview Court. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 7th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2201 Chestnut St ., Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. James Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Ervin was born in the town of Day, in Marathon County on September 11, 1928 to Fred and Frances (Bianchi) Carolfi. He married Elaine L. Knuth on September 30, 1950 in Wisconsin Rapids. She died on November 29, 2000. Ervin was employed by Consolidated Papers, Inc. as a papermaker. He remained at Consolidated until his retirement. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Ervin enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to the casino. He also was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include four sons: James (Kristine), Manitowoc, WI; Roger (Krystal), Prescott, WI; Douglas (Kathleen), Rudolph, WI; and David (Bernadette), Wisconsin Rapids, WI; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister: Ann Jacoby; three sisters-in-law: Cora, Doris,and Marian Carolfi ; and friend: Charlotte Neitzel, Baraboo, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine; daughter-in-law Connie Carolfi; brothers: George, Anton, Albert, Louis and Walter; sisters: Mary, Carrie, Ida, Judith and Florence.
