Obituary of Ronald K Weigel

Ronald K. Weigel, age 75, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Ronald was born on November 24, 1940 in Wisconsin Rapids to Henry and Wilma (Miller) Weigel Sr. He was united in marriage to Simona Shears on November 2, 1963 in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage and three children. Ronald was employed by Basic American Foods as a mechanic before his retirement. Ronald had a passion for woodworking; he enjoyed building toys and donating them to schools and with the help of his wife even built his own home. Ronald loved spending time in the great outdoors gardening, growing tomatoes and hunting. He especially enjoyed his trip to Colorado Elk hunting, where he bagged a big one. Ronald was a talented man who liked to tinker and invent things, he built his own irrigation system for his tomato garden. Ronald is survived by his loving wife Simona, two daughters: Karla (David) Crabb of Wisconsin Rapids, and Ronda (Tony) Hericks of Nekoosa, five grandchildren: Eric, Katie, Branden, Dylan and Tyler, great-grandchild Aiden as well as many brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Keith, brothers Bill and Hank,and sister Ruth Mary. The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital, UW Cancer Center and the United Ambulance Service for all of the care and compassion that was shown to Ronald and his family. Private family services will be held at a later date.
