Obituary of James E. Hoffman
James E. Hoffman, age 58, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 03, 2016 at his residence.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Jonathan Petzold will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Jim was born on July 2, 1958 in Wisconsin Rapids to Jerome and Ruth (Wendling) Hoffman. He was united in marriage to Ela Oleson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Jim was employed as a fork lift operator at Ocean Spray Cranberry. Jim was a very kind, caring and compassionate person. His family, especially his wife and grandchildren were the love of his life. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish; especially fishing trips with his father-in-law for musky and walleyes. Jim's two needy dogs Romeo and Ruby were very special to him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Ela; his mother, Ruth Hoffman (special friend Cal Lieber) of Wisconsin Rapids; two children: Cameron of Chicago, IL and Erika of Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren: Killean and Kieara of Wisconsin Rapids; and a sister, Bonnie (Robert) Petrick of Wisconsin Rapids; mother and father-in-law Renate and Larry Oleson,one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome; sister, Sherrie; and two brothers: Gerald and Joseph and sister-in-law Petra.
