Obituary of Lawrence Williams
Lawrence Leo Williams, age 65, of Wisconsin Rapids, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on August 15, 1950 to Howard and Wanda (Arndt) Williams in Gary, Indiana. On July 6, 1974 he married the love of his life Rita Nelson at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield. The couple was blessed with 42 years of marriage and two children. Larry was employed by Tork Trucking, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and for the last 5 years before his retirement he was employed by Napa Auto Parts as a delivery driver.
Larry enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and liked bow and riffle hunting in the fall. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who liked nothing more than spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching television, especially the Big Bang Theory. He had a wonderful sense of humor, always quick with a comeback or a joke. His infectious smile and zest for life will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Larry is survived by his wife Rita, son Chad (Nicole) Williams of Wisconsin Rapids, daughter Casey Olson of Wisconsin Rapids, grandchildren: Baylee Williams and Brelee Olson; sisters: Lori (Rick) Beggs of Stevens Point, Christy Nelson of Hancock and brother Randy (Emma) Williams of Hancock; step-mother Joan Williams of Hancock as well as his special friends: Mike and Patty Hauser of Madison and Louis and Michelle Holmes of Hancock. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and best friend Ron Lamont.
In lieu of flowers donations in Larry's name may be made to the UW Cancer Center.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Ponderosa Pines from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Online condolences may be expressed at www.tayolorfuneralhome.net.
