Obituary of Elton Bowden
Elton "Tony" Bowden, age 75, of Rudolph, died Sunday October 5, 2014 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Pittsville. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Tony was born on May 1, 1939 to William C. Bowden and Frances (Knoll) Bowden in Remington, WI. He grew up in Hustisford, WI. Tony served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1962 to 1964.
Tony married Kathryn Heuer on November 6, 1965 in Pittsville. He worked for Consolidated Papers Inc, in the yard and as a truck driver at the Biron Division, until retiring in 2000.
Tony had a great love of coyote and deer hunting and fishing. Tony also enjoyed gardening. He liked to entertain others with his great stories.
Tony is survived by his wife of 49 years Kathryn; three children: Anthony (Annette) Bowden, Theresa Hoff (Fran Otero) and Susanne Maguire (Robert Feit); two grandsons: Andrew and Keith Bowden; one granddaughter: Mara Maguire; one sister: Sylvia Scherbert; four brothers: James (Mary) Bowden, William (Eunice) Bowden, Wally Bowden and Elmer (Georgia) Bowden; two stepsisters: Margaret (Duane) Trickle and Carol (Gary) Kruger; one half sister: Sherri ( Mark) Honkomp; one stepbrother: Chuck (Shelby) Sorrell; one half brother: Steven (Mary) Bowden. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Lyle and Allen Bowden; half sister, Patty Knutson and stepmother, Lynette Bowden.
