Obituary of Donna J. Schedel
Donna Schedel, age 70, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home in Wisconsin Rapids with family by her side.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend Timothy Wenger will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday September 2, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church.
Donna was born on June 5, 1946 in Marshfield, WI to Leon and Mildred (Buss) Deleske. She married Eugene Dieringer in 1966. Together they had three children and ran Jingle's Distributing of Wisconsin Rapids. They later divorced. On August 7, 1999 she married Robert Schedel (once he finished the tack room!)
Donna recently retired as a C-store manager in the town of Saratoga where she worked for more than 20 years. She had a passion for leading and helping others. Over the past 30 years, she served as President, Treasurer, Board of Directors as well as several chairmanships for the Lioness Club. In 2012, she received the Birch-Sturm Award, which is the highest award presented in Lionism. She also served the Tri- City Riding club the past 30+ years holding positions as Treasurer, Board of Directors and one of the Point Chair Persons.
She loved everything about horses and rodeos, competing in pole bending and barrel racing until her beloved horse, Rishanne, passed. She continued to support others in their love of rodeo. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and deer hunting with her family. When not busy outdoors tending her many beautiful gardens, you could find her rooting for Matt Kenseth in a NASCAR race or cheering on The Packers! Her pets Mazie, Taffey, and Calico were dear to her heart.
Donna is survived by her husband, Robert; children: Sheila (Bob) Wagner of La Crosse, Scott (Pam) Dieringer of Wisconsin Rapids, and Dan (Jill) Dieringer of Greenville; step-children: Jennifer Schedel of Stoughton and Bess (Jess) MacLeod of Cottage Grove; grandchildren: Brittany Berg, Ray and Mike Dieringer, Travis Tauschek, Jeana Dieringer, Jasper and Anna Rutherford, Evelynn and Coltin MacLeod; brother: Darrel (Carla) Deleske of Marshfield; sisters: Betty Kohel of Neenah, Lois Ehrike of Marshfield, and Bea (Allen) Montgomery of Gleason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Mildred Deleske and brother-in-laws: Ronald Kohel and Harold Ehrike.
