Obituary of Elaine M. Braaksma

Elaine Marie Braaksma, age 78, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Riverview Hospital. Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Faith Reformed Church. Rev. Vance Elzinga will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. Elaine was born on December 27, 1936 to John and Gertrude Vande (Streek) Hull in Waupun, Wisconsin. She married Samuel Braaksma on October 1, 1954 in Fond Du Lac County. Elaine was a driver for the Safeway Bus Transit Inc. for 30 years. She and her husband were co-owners of the Cozy Inn and the Midway motels in Wisconsin Rapids. Elaine was a snowbird who spent the last 30 years in Bradenton, Florida. She was an avid golfer. Elaine enjoyed quilting and playing cards. She played the piano and liked to sing in church. Elaine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Samuel , her children: Randy (Mary) Braaksma, Dennis(Penny) Braaksma, Pat Braaksma, Erick (Sara) Braaksma , Byron (Kelley) Braaksma, Kurt (Stacy) Braaksma, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters and their families, three sister-in-laws and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Hull, mother and father in-law Albert and Bessie, brother-in-laws: Albert Braaksma Jr. and Gary Gilmer and sister-in-law Donna Hull.
