A rosary service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Adeline was born March 31, 1922 at home in Rudolph, WI to Paul and Elizabeth (Schiltz) Zimmerman. She attended St. Philip's Catholic Schools in Rudolph and graduated from Rudolph High School. On April 18, 1942, Adeline was united in marriage to Leon Peters. The couple was blessed with 72 years of marriage. Leon passed away on August 6, 2014. Adeline and Leon farmed in Rudolph. They also built the U& I Inn (now known as Three Jokers), which Adeline ran for sixteen years. Adeline was a faithful member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish and the Christian Mother's group. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Rudolph and a former member of the Rudolph Homemaker's. Adeline and Leon had a theory that you should do things you can while you are young, and they did. They traveled a lot, taking trips to Alaska and Germany and many cross country car trips to see relatives and friends throughout the United States. Adeline especially enjoyed trips to see the shows in Branson, MO and fishing at Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota. Adeline had many interests including quilting, cross stitching, painting and woodworking. She loved tending to her gardens and taking rides on the golf cart through the woods, occasionally stopping to pick blackberries. Adeline loved apples and making apple pies with her children and grandchildren. There wasn't an apple tree anywhere near Rudolph that she wouldn't eye up for apples. Adeline is survived by her four children: Carol Peters of Wisconsin Rapids, Jerry (Donna) Peters of Rudolph, Betty (Robert) Strosin of Wisconsin Rapids, and Paula Peters of Rudolph; eight grandchildren: Denise (Kevin) Brandl, Diane (Dave) Kohls, Erik (Shelli) Peters, Tina (Rich) Houston, Leon Peters, Julie (Larry) Wenning, Karen (Jack) Johnsen, and Jeff (Becky Zimmerman) Lanzi; seventeen great-grandchildren: Kayla (Cory), Courtney (Mark), Chelsey, Cody, Cassidy, Jared, Jordan, Vaughan (Amy), Reese, Ben, Kirby, McKinsey, Jeremiah, Tyler, Kate, Joey and Josh; five great great-grandchildren: Caden, Connor, Evelyn, Eli and Oakley; a sister, Irene Hartjes of Rudolph; and brother, Valentine (Marlene) Zimmerman of Ham Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; brothers, Henry and Edward Zimmerman; and sisters Isabel Konkol, Marion Steuck, and Louise Hartjes.
