Obituary of Ethel J. Dakota
Ethel J. Dakota, age 50, of Nekoosa, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at her residence.
Traditional services will be on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at Chee Community Building (916 Chakh-hah-Chee Lane ,Nekoosa, WI ) The Winneshiek family will officiate. Burial will be in Babcock Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. at the community building until the time of service.
Ethel was born on June 16, 1964 to Richard and Bonnie (Twinn) Dakota in Wisconsin Rapids. She graduated from Pittsville High School. Ethel served in the United States Army as a Medic after basic training. She was employed by Ho Chunk Nation for 20 years.
Ethel enjoyed reading and fishing. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and enjoyed taking bingo trips with her Aunt. Ethel cherished spending time with her grandkids and babysitting her newest granddaughter.
Ethel is survived by her fiancé Merlin Crow; children: Promise Bakken of Wisconsin Rapids and her children Janell, Jaylynn , Randall Bakken of Pittsville, Toby Decorah and his children Love, Toby Jr.of Baton Rouge,LA and Honey Dakota of Nekoosa; siblings: Greg Johnson, of Wittenberg, James (Carrie) Dakota of Madison, Edward (Bernice) Twinn of Wisconsin Rapids, Lydia Twinn of Wisconsin Rapids, Jennifer Twinn of Milwaukee.
She is preceded in death by her mother Bonnie Twinn and her brother Richard Dakota Jr.
