Obituary of Margaret Jane Martin

Margaret J. Martin, age 92, of City Point, WI passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Wisconsin Rapids Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Margaret was born July 6, 1922 in City Point, Jackson County, WI to Albert and Katheryn (Grumbeck) Reshel. She was raised in City Point and attended grade school at the Bautch School. She worked at mossing and cranberry harvesting. Margaret enjoyed canning, playing cards, sewing, baking, canning and having a beautiful vegetable garden and flowers. She also enjoyed playing guitar and singing country and western songs with her sister. Margaret is survived by her children: Jean (Herbert) Shoemaker, Thomas (Dale) Hanutke, Frank (Pat) Hanutke, Jane (Terry) Smith, Sophie Zinda as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren , nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1960, her second husband Ronald in 2010, her parents, four brothers and four sisters. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care and compassion that they received from the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center staff.
