Obituary of Barbara Rita Kingsley
Barbara Rita Kingsley, age 83, of Stevens Point, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor John Grohs will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and again Monday at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Barbara was born on April 28, 1931 to William and Clara (Belknap) Pagels in the Town of Rudolph. Barbara graduated from Wood County Normal School with a degree in teaching. She married Robert Kingsley on December 31, 1954 in Wisconsin Rapids; they were blessed with 49 years of marriage.
Barbara was a dedicated teacher. In the early 1980s when computers were just emerging she took classes to learn how to use them to better teach her students. She was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and Evening Guild. Barbara was an avid reader. She also enjoyed theatre, traveling and camping. She was a volunteer for the League of Women Voters and Bethesda Thrift Shop. Barbara truly loved spending time with her family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her children: Douglas(Julie) Kingsley of Akeley, MN, Jeffrey Kingsley of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Sarah (Brian) Ross of Stevens Point, WI and Brian(Peggy Trantow) Kingsley of Merrill, WI; grandchildren: Jennifer(Matt) McNelly, Rachel Kingsley , Andrew and Erin Ross; great grandchildren: Katelyn and Madeline; siblings: Arlene "Pinch" (Keith) Hackbarth and Dale(Kay) Pagels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, brothers Howard and Kenneth Pagels, sister Margaret Johnson.
