Obituary of John Savagian
On this September 13, 2016, the Lord called his servant, John Savagian home.
John was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Janice F. Savagian.
Beloved father to his five children, Barbara (Armando Bras), Catherine (Ali Anwar Jr.), John (Diane Grace) David and Andrew (Jennifer). Proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Gina, Ali, Raphael, Jamal, Alejandro, Amanda, Kamilah, Elena, Dana, Logan and Sophia.
Born in 1931 to Armenian genocide survivors Arshag and Gulle (Kamakian) Souvajian in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. John spent over 30 years working at Bucyrus-Erie Company in a number of positions. He joined the company in 1949 as an apprentice in the Plate Shop and was promoted into management. At retirement he held the title of General Superintendent.
In 1960 John joined the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church and faithfully served where needed, on the Stewardship Committee, Building Committee and as an Elder.
John and Jan realized their dream of owning and building a lake home and after retirement enjoyed golfing and life on Lake Arrowhead with their many friends.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00am on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Garden Bluff Cemetery, Lodi Wisconsin. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family would like to express their thanks to Edgewater Haven Nursing Home for the wonderful way they cared for John.
The family also wishes to thank members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for their many cards and continual prayers for John and for the faithful visits and devotions provided by Pastor Paul A. Tullberg.
