Obituary of Ila L. Diver

Ila Irene Diver, age 97 of Wisconsin Rapids, died on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Riverview Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Martin Baur will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Ila was born on April 16, 1918 in Wisconsin Rapids to Gustave and Mary (Wodtke) Plowman. She attended grade school at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran School and graduated from Lincoln High School. Ila worked at Fey Publishing Company and the Wood County Agriculture Conservation Association until her marriage to Donald W. Diver on June 18, 1938; he passed away on November 7, 1989. Ila was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Synod, Wisconsin Rapids. While married she worked seasonally at the Sugar Bowl Restaurant, Griffith Nursery and a canning factory. Later she took a job at Federal Land Bank where she worked as a secretary for over 19 years before her retirement. Ila was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed singing and dancing, gardening, and her flowers. Ila also enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband. She loved visiting with relatives and friends. Survivors include her children: Judith Kollock of Bancroft, WI, Sharon Austin of Winslow, AZ, Kay Zwicke, Ralph (Helen) Diver, and Clyde(Lori) Diver all of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; grandchildren: Kevin Kollock, Chris (Jill) Kollock, Kim (Matthew) Weiss, James (Renee) Kollock, Scott (Diane) Kollock, Shelly Mrotek, Troy (Sue) Zwicke , Tracey (Steve) Dawson, Todd Perry, Denelle (Chris) Foerstera, Derik (Theresa) Diver and Tyler Diver; step-grandchildren: Nicole (Robert) Rodriguez, Jeremy and Jaih Reber and 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ila was preceded in death by her daughter June Truesdell; three brothers: Leo, Don and Dennis; four sons-in-law: James, Austin, Richard and Ron; two sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Effie and two brothers-in-law: Wayne and Nep.
