Obituary of Philip F Helmer

Philip F. Helmer, 81, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on September 18, 2016 at Arborview Court in Wisconsin Rapids. Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 2:00 until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net Phil was born July 28, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI to Raymond G. and Cordelia W. (Whited) Helmer. He married Jean (Rutley) Helmer on October 17, 1958 in Milwaukee, WI. Phil was a surveyor for the City of Wisconsin Rapids and was and owner/operator of an Ocean Spray Cranberry Marsh since 1975. In his earlier years Phil enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest passion was being in the outdoors. Phil never missed a second of Fox News. Phil is survived by his wife: Jean; two children: Steven (Julie) Helmer, City Point, WI and Dawn Rada, St. Paul, MN; three grandchildren: Lexie and Cory Rada, St. Paul, MN, CPT Craig (Dr. Annie Huang, MD) Tork, MD, San Antonio, TX; two siblings: Raymond (June) Helmer, Houston, TX, David (Nancy) Helmer, Cary, IL; brother-in-law: Stephen (Kathleen) Rutley, Brookfield, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law: Eleanor Kosmatka; father-in-law: Stephen Rutley and brother-in-law: John Rutley.
