Obituary of LeNola Mae Taylor
LeNola Mae Taylor, age 101, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
LeNola was born on May 1, 1914 to James and Hannah (Jones) Holmes in Unity, WI. She married Everett E. Taylor on September 22, 1935 in Rib Lake, WI; he passed away on October 21, 1986. Everett and LeNola established Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids in 1953. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
LeNola was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church for over 70 years. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Aid, Evening Guild and the Immanuel Lutheran School PTA. LeNola loved playing Bridge and was a member of many Bridge clubs. She was an avid reader. After retirement LeNola and Everett enjoyed square dancing and wintering in McAllen, TX.
LeNola is survived by her daughters: Ann (Al) Rutta of Wisconsin Rapids and Margaret (Gareth Johnson) Taylor of Madison; son-in-law Irvin (Sharon) Vollert of Wisconsin Rapids; 10 grandchildren: Peter Jennings, Timothy (Pam) Jennings, Jennifer (John) Hanzlik, David (Sarah) Pennington, Kari (Michael) Hulke, Melanie Vollert, Andrew Jennings, Paul (Beth) Vollert, Dr. Elena Ziarnik (Dr. Erin Leahy) and Benjamin (Sara) Jennings; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett, daughter Linda Vollert, son-in-law Michael Jennings, three sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be designated to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran School.
