Obituary of Beverly Klevene
On October 23, 2015 Beverly Klevene answered a final request from the Lord to continue her passion for volunteering at His side, in Heaven. While we thought she still had more work to do on Earth, she assured us that her mission here was through.
Beverly was born on March 30, 1930 to Fred and Ruth Klawitter in the town of Vesper. Beverly graduated from Lincoln High School 1948 and married Mike Klevene on July 23, 1949. She worked as a homemaker, raising three children, until Mike died after 22 years of marriage. At this time she began work at the Tribune/WFHR and later moved to Consolidated Papers Inc. in 1977, initially in Central Services and then in Wisconsin River Division Technical Department in 1978. Beverly switched yet again in 1981 moving to the Customer Service/Marketing Department where she worked with merchants all over the United States, making 11 marketing trips to both the east and west coasts, retiring from that position in 1995.
After retirement, Bev became an avid volunteer and was honored as Volunteer of the Year by the United Way in 1999. She spent countless hours in her volunteering efforts including such activities as beautifying the gardens at the Zoo, working in the Riverview Hospital gift shop and even dressed as a super hero for the United Way. Beverly loved to play bridge, was a voracious reader, and often had a Sudoku puzzle at hand to keep her mind sharp. She became proficient at the iPad, Kindle, and computer, never missing a weekly email to her family which she filled with jokes, memories, and wisdom.
A proud, devout, and active member of the First English Lutheran Church, Beverly donated her time and accounting skills and looked forward to Sunday services where she could share her faith, always meticulously dressed; her outfit accented with one of her many wonderful hats.
Beverly is survived by three children: son Michael of Tampa, Florida, son Mark (Paula) of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, and daughter Kym (Mark Kirby) of Navarre, Florida; as well as two grandsons: Andrew of Westfield, Wisconsin and Dr. Bary (Ryan Jacob Wood) of Saint Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ruth (Precious) Klawitter, husband Mike, and sister Joan Evans.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family.
While Beverly was reluctant to move on to this new position, she felt the benefits were just too great to pass up. She will be surrounded by friends and family she hasn't seen in a while, bridge club is five days a week, there is dancing every night, brandy on the rocks with a side of water is free, and the steaks are prime cut and cooked to medium rare.
Please join us for hors d'oeuvres at Lake Aire Supper Club from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 28th in a celebration in remembrance for a woman who inspired and touched each of our hearts in her own unique way.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Beverly to Aspirus Riverview Hospital Auxiliary.
