Obituary of Dorothy E Steen

Dorothy Eleanor Steen, age 94, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday November 13, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care. A private family service will be held at a later date. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting the family. Dorothy was born on October 13, 1921 in Ladysmith, WI to Oscar and Attie (Isted) Nelson. She married Milton Steen on May 20, 1940 in Ladysmith, WI; they were blessed with 41 years of marriage before he passed away in 1981. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family and home were her greatest joys. Dorothy enjoyed many types of crafting and was a skilled counted cross stitch artist. She crafted many heirloom pictures that are treasured by her family. She was a great cook and always had a beautiful garden. Dorothy is survived by her children Janet Rockwood, James (Ginny) Steen and Sharron Steen; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 6 sisters and son-in-law Jack Rockwood.
