Obituary of Billy Joe Williams
Billy Joe Williams, age 62, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at his residence.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Moravian Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 30th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. Bill was born February 1, 1953 in Geneseo, Illinois to Henry and Marjorie (Floming) Williams. He married Valerie Knoll on May 24, 1975 in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with three children: Joseph, Teresa and Melissa.
Bill worked for the Nekoosa paper mill. He also owned B&V Sports and was the founder of Joe's Bait Shop in Nekoosa and the Nekoosa Walleye Days.
Bill loved making fishing lures and was an avid fisherman. He spent much of his time trying to make people laugh and smile. Bill loved spending time with his family and especially his two grandchildren. He was a true Packers fan and truly loved the Lord. He was a member of the Moravian Church in Wisconsin Rapids, the Kewanee Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps and the Wisconsin Rapids Zephyrs Drum and Bugle Corps.
Bill is survived by three children: Joseph (Sarah) Williams, Teresa Williams, and Melissa Williams; two grandchildren: Teagan and Zadie Williams; and one brother, Chris (Pam) Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Valerie, infant daughter Molly Williams and sister Beverly Daniels.
