Obituary of Kathleen Mae Weston-Metz

Kathleen Mae Weston-Metz, age 71, of Nekoosa, WI, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, December 6, 2018, with her loving husband, Michael, of 31 years, by her side.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Pastor Lucas Proeber will officiate.  Inurnment will take place at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL at a later date. Kathleen was born January 12, 1947 to Gordon and Eleanor (Zinzer) Engels in Evanston, IL.  She grew up in Niles, IL with her younger siblings Dennis and Mary. Kathleen married Michael Metz on February 27, 1988, and met her match in passion, humor, and verbal banter. While she lived most of her life in Crystal Lake, IL, after retirement she and Michael moved to a home on Lake Sherwood in Rome, WI.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; her son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Tracey Weston; her grandsons: Dylan Weston and Ryan Weston; her sister, Mary Strelow; she is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Engels.
