Gloria was born April 13, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to Frank and Constance (Kadau) Bednarski. She was raised in Tess Corners, WI and graduated from West Milwaukee High School in 1948. She then went to work for Wisconsin Telephone Company. She married Raymond C. Petri on December 29, 1951. They enjoyed 33 years of wonderful memories, until his death in 1985. They were blessed with three children, William, Jacqueline (Jacqie), and Keith. She then married Jearl Livernash in 1999.
After spending her early years of marriage as a homemaker, she did secretarial work for Streff Specialty Advertising to help support her children’s Christian education. She also worked for Holt Electric Motor Company, from which she retired in 1985.
She was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. For many years she lovingly cut out each lamb for the Little Lambs Ministry and posted it on the board. She also helped count the weekly offerings as part of the finance team and read to the pre-school children. Her special ministry was offering comfort to other widows.
Gloria is survived by her children: William C. (Suzanne) Petri and Keith K. (Penny Cornwell) Petri; a son-in-law, Gerald Jablonowski; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond C. Petri; her second husband, Jearl Livernash; her daughter, Jacqie J. Jablonowski; and her siblings, Leo Bednarski (the late Marilyn), Sarah Berberich, Nancy Chapman, and Lillian Bednarski.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Nekoosa Court for their loving care shown to Gloria.
