Obituary of Richard Lee Kautz, Sr.
Richard Lee Kautz, Sr., age 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen will officiate. Military honors will be conducted. Inurnment will take place at Roseland Cemetery in Marion, WI at a later date. Visitation will take place from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service, on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at St. Luke’s. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to be serving the Kautz Family.
Richard was born on February 23, 1941 in Marion, WI to Leo and Blanche (Nelson) Kautz. He was a graduate of Clintonville High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. Richard married the love of his life, Sharon Fredrick, on August 31, 1963. They were blessed with nearly 55 years together.
He enjoyed bowhunting, fishing, tree farming, and attending old tractor and machinery shows. He was employed by ITT Financial and retired with 39 years of service. Richard received numerous awards while employed in the financial field. He was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and usher for many years. He is loved and will be deeply missed.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children: Tammy (Linda Henderson) Kautz, Lori (Dan) Jacobson, and Richard (Denise Thompson) Kautz, Jr.; grandchildren: Elliot Britz, Zackary Kautz, Kayla Kautz, Camren Kautz, Krista Mirabile, Brett Thompson, and Trace Thompson; great-grandchildren: Drayton Britz, Willow Mirabile, and Lily Mirabile; siblings: Gary (Kristen) Kautz and Karmen Kautz. He is further survived by many extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Kautz and Michael Kautz.
