I had the opportunity to visit Eleanor the day before she passed. I held her hand and talked to her and I believe she understood me. She ask about Chris and Kenney. I told her Kenny would be in to see her later and Chris was at work or at home. She wasn't sure where she was - if she was still at the hospital. I told her she was at Edgewater and that she would be receiving therapy. I took the flowers in the tea cup to show her and tell her how pretty they were and asked who they were from. She responded - Glora Mae. She was in a lot of pain and the nurse's aid gave her morphine which they were going to give her every hour as she needed it. She stated "Please God take me" repeatedly until the morphine took hold. Eleanor was a true Christian lady and put together bulletins at church for years and helped in any way she could. She was well known for the candy she made for church sales. My condolences go to Judy and Ron and to Kenny and Mary Beth. A contribution will be made to St. Luke's in her memory.
