Obituary of Randy Schultz
Randy J. Schultz, 61, of Wisconsin Rapids, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
He was born on Sep. 24, 1956, in Wisconsin Rapids, to John and Delores (Arndt) Schultz and was a 1974 graduate of John Edwards High School in Port Edwards. Following high school, he worked for the town of Seneca, then worked in the shipping department at Domtar in Port Edwards from 1978 until the paper mill closed in 2008. Randy later worked for Ocean Spray until his early disability retirement.
His marriage to Lori Leslie ended in divorce, but they remained best friends.
Randy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards, where he served as an elder and usher, and was a member of the Fishermen’s Club. He was a jack-of-all trades and an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening, music and horses – operating the pony ring at carnivals.
He is survived by his sons, Jason (Jessica) Schultz of Madison, and Bradley Schultz of Wisconsin Rapids; granddaughter, Ariana Schultz of Wisconsin Rapids; mother, Delores Schultz of Port Edwards; sister, Kathy (Jeff) Vavrina of Wisconsin Rapids; former wife, Lori Schultz of Wisconsin Rapids; nieces April (Ricky) Salazar of Port Edwards, and Tiffany (David) Rheinschmidt of Nekoosa; nephew, Trent Vavrina of Nekoosa; great-nieces and nephews, Isaiah and Alexis Rowe, Caleb and Jacob Rheinschmidt, Skyler and Gage Vavrina; and special cousin, Greg Schultz of Birchwood.
He was preceded in death by his father; and sisters, Julie and Jodel Schultz.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Randy’s name.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards. The Rev. Dan Bohn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Port Edwards Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
