Obituary of Gary DeWayne Fulk

Gary DeWayne Fulk, age 70, Town of Rome, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence.

Gary was born June 27, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Wilma E. Fulk. 

When he was younger, he worked as an over the road truck driver.  He later held supervisory positions at Arpin Dairy, Golden County Foods, and Alpine Foods.

Gary loved to travel.  He enjoyed seeing different places and architecture.  He liked to fish and tinker around fixing cars and trucks.

Gary is survived by his longtime significant other, Darla Baerenwald; sister, Sherry Burroughs (Albert Hudson); brother, Greg Brown; uncle, Darrell (Dolores) Fulk; cousin, Teri Hoffman and her children; Darla’s children: Terry Young and her children: Jamie (Rachel) Young and Michelle Young, Kim (Steve) Vanderhoef and children: Shannon Marti (children Bryson and Mya) and Shane Marti, and Gale Baerenwald; and Darla’s siblings: James (Beverly) Krueger, Ron (Sandra) Klitz and Debra Nienke. He was preceded in death by his mother, uncles: Weldon, Delbert and Wilbur and aunt, Judy Fulk.

Services for Gary will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow in the funeral home’s reception room.  Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
