Obituary of Stephanie Joy Wauqua
Stephanie Joy Wauqua, age 40, of Milwaukee passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Milwaukee.
Traditional Native American funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Cex Haci Community Building in Nekoosa. Jim Greendeer will officiate. Burial will be at White Cemetery in the town of Seneca. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Cex Haci Community Building. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
Stephanie was born April 28, 1977 in Wisconsin Rapids to Algernon Wauqua and Darlyn Banuelos. She married Craig Anthony Gibson on August 26, 2015 in Milwaukee.
Stephanie loved to cook and worked as a cook at various restaurants. She was always on the go and enjoyed traveling and visiting with relatives. She also enjoyed drawing. Everyone was always welcome in her home.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Craig Gibson; two sons: Tyreek Maxwell Wauqua and Malik Antonio Robertson; her parents: Algernon Wauqua and Darlyn Banuelos; step-father, William Jefferson; grandmother, Madeline Walker; four siblings: Karen Wauqua, Colin Wauqua, Antionette Wauqua and Angel Wauqua; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Ethel Johnson; grandmother, Emily Boswell; her Tegas, Randall Banuelos and Garrett Banuelos; sister, Tara Banuelos; and baby Dezi.
