Obituary of Barbara Van Willigen

Barbara E. Van Willigen, 74, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.

She was born July 4, 1943, in Granton, to the late Joseph and Hazel (Krause) Schaefer, and had been a former owner of Danny K’s in Wisconsin Rapids. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Lyle (Charlotte) Edelblute and Brian (special friend Julie Molski) Edelblute; step-children, Rob (Patty) Van Willigen, Kurt (Bernadette) Van Willigen and Jim Van Willigen; brother, Jewel (Sue) Schaefer; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Van Willigen.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
