Obituary of Lloyd W. Marquard
Lloyd W. Marquard, age 72, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 20, 2017 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the church. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids, is honored to be assisting the family.
Lloyd was born August 8, 1945 in Stevens Point, WI to Fred and Joyce (Reeves) Marquard. He married Martha Mears, and later married Nancy Marzofka. Nancy preceded him in death on November 5, 2001.
Lloyd worked for Consolidated Papers Inc. in the Kraft Division and retired as lead bleach plant operator.
Lloyd loved life and was very dedicated to his family and his grandchildren. He was known as “Whimpy” by his numerous close friends. Lloyd was always up for a good game of Yahtzee. Christmas and Easter were his favorite holidays and he always had to be sure that everyone received the perfect gift. Lloyd was very interested in history. He loved to travel, especially to historical places throughout the US and “Out West”. Lloyd had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch NASCAR and root on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Lloyd was also an avid reader of suspense novels.
Lloyd is survived by three children: Diane (Tim) Wimmer, Schaumburg, IL, Rick (Deb) Marquard, Laurel, MT, and Sean (Amy) Marquard, Wisconsin Rapids; two grandchildren: Alexandra Wimmer and Mya Marquard; brother, Michael (Candy) Marquard, Wisconsin Rapids; sister, Ann (Tom) Ehrisman, Manchester, NH; and father-in-law, Ralph Marzofka, Wisconsin Rapids. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, sister Linda Parris, and mother-in-law Geraldine Marzofka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Lloyd’s family would like to thank the Aspirus Wound Clinic, Sue Tenpas and Sarah Ward of Community Link, Dr. Fairchild of Surgical Associates, and the staff at DaVita Dialysis for their care and concern for Lloyd.
