Obituary of John A Maeder

John A. Maeder, age 79, of Nekoosa, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. 

John was born on September 17, 1937 to Arnold and Ruth (Miller) Maeder in Wisconsin Rapids. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army as a mechanic.  John was employed most of his working life by Consolidate Papers, Inc. as a machinist.  He married the former Ruth Steele on September 16, 1961. Although this marriage ended in divorce, they were blessed with two sons. He later married Veronica “Petie” (King) on October 7, 1998.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and going out to eat at various local establishments.

John is survived by his wife, Veronica “Petie” Maeder; son, Todd (Renee) Maeder; grandchildren: Jacob, Collin, Hannah, Dana, and Grace; sibilings: Susie Wilhorn and Gerald (Pat) Maeder; nephew, Roger (Sara) Wilhorn; step-children: Kathy (Jim) Jinkerson, Sandy King, and George (Kim) King; 7 step-grandchildren; and 5 step-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruth Maeder; a son, Thomas Maeder; and a brother-in-law, George Wilhorn,

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Deacon James Johnston will officiate.  Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.John A.
