Obituary of Louis Marzofka
Louis Eugene Marzofka, 81, of 1231 Chestnut St., Wisconsin Rapids, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Riverview Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. John Steiner will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Louis was born in Wausau on May 9, 1930, to Louis and Viola (Pagels) Marzofka. He married Norberta (Brey) on Nov. 17, 1956, in Milladore. She died on Feb. 6, 2003.
Louis worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1992.
He served his country in the Navy from February 1951 until January 1955.
Louis loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, swimmer, hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his three sons, Mike (Marcie) of Wisconsin Rapids, Patrick of Dubuque, Iowa, and Jeff of Nekoosa; one granddaughter, Crysta, of Wisconsin Rapids; special friend, Kathy Luecht; brother, Donald (Darlene) Marzofka of Rudolph; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norberta; and his parents.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home; and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the church. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
