Obituary of Douglas Staffon
Douglas "Earl" Staffon, age 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, died early Monday, June 16, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer.
Douglas was born in City Point, WI on July 26, 1934 to Gerald and Florence (Stenerson) Staffon.
Douglas worked for Wisconsin Valley Concrete in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and for Del Monte Foods in Plover, WI.
He was stationed in Germany while he served his country in the Army from 1957 to 1959. He was honorably discharged in 1963.
Douglas was proud of being a veteran and that he had given his service to his country. He loved fishing, was a member of a Walleye Club, enjoyed going to Grandma's Café in Wisconsin Rapids, enjoyed dancing, and was a wonderful, loving uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold and Roger Staffon, and his sister, Irene Grosklaus.
Earl will always be remembered for his ready smile and willingness to help others.
Memorials may be designated to the American Cancer Society.
