Obituary of Marvin Jansen
Marvin Jansen, 77, Wisconsin Rapids, died July 20, 2014 at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 26th at New Hope Community Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Mary Bosch will officiate. Burial will be in Christian Reformed Cemetery in the town of Sigel. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Friday, July 25th at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the church.
Marvin was born August 9, 1936 in Vesper, Wisconsin to Cornelius and Jennie (Joling) Jansen.
During his life, he worked on his folk's farm, at Bethel Nursing Home, ODC in Wisconsin Rapids, Del Monte in Plover, and retired from Renaissance Learning Center in 2004.
Marvin was a lifelong member of the New Hope Community Church. He spent a lot of time at the Lowell Senior Center volunteering and helping out when asked. He was a champion Wii bowler. Marvin was a sweet and gentle soul and a hard worker.
Survivors include his sisters: Lois (John) Buteyn, Colorado Springs, CO; Alice (Jacob) Halbersma, Vesper, WI; Elsie (Harold) Van Stryland, Pella, IA; two brothers: James (Nancy) Jansen, Vesper, WI; and Harvey (Gail) Jansen, Tucson, AZ. Marvin is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Jennie; one brother, Robert Jansen; and sister-in-law, Lena Jansen.
