Obituary of Shirley M. Monteith

Shirley M. Monteith, age 76, of Wisconsin Rapids, died Friday, August 01, 2014, at Riverview Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Stephen Steinmetz will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Shirley was born August 12, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to Donald and Margaret (Coulthurst) Pascavis. Shirley worked at Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. in Wisconsin Rapids until her retirement. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. She loved to travel with friends through Progressive Travel. Shirley is survived by her son, Kevin Monteith of Marshfield; lifelong foster brother, John (Marilyn) Botcher and their children, Erin, Donald, and Derrick all of Wisconsin Rapids; stepsister Gloria (Bob) DeGroff of Sheboygan Falls, WI ; stepbrother Bud (Linda) Tessmer of Custer, WI; special friend Lois Irick of Wausau, WI; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Homer; brother Eugene Pascavis; stepfather Richard Tessmer; stepsister Naomi Esselman; and stepbrother Larry Tessmer. The family would like to thank the staff at River City Estates for all their care and love shown to Shirley.
