Obituary of Rhonda Jean Sweet

Rhonda Jean Sweet, age 55, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on August 5, 2014 at House of the Dove, Marshfield, WI. Rhonda was born in Fort Atkinson, WI on September 17, 1958 to John and Jean (Hancock) Sweet. She was the fifth of seven children. At 6 months of age, her family moved to Wisconsin Rapids, finally settling in Port Edwards in 1962. Rhonda attended the Cranmoor and Port Edwards Schools in her younger years, graduating from John Edwards High School in 1977. She went on to obtain her accounting degree from MSTC. She worked at Arpin Dairy for many years then for a brief time at Worzalla Publishing Co., before becoming a collator machine operator at Fey Publishing. She enjoyed her job and formed many lasting friendships with co-workers. Rhonda was an accomplished photographer and was rarely seen without camera in hand. She enjoyed nature and spending time in outdoor activities. She loved to travel and visited many county, state and national parks. She enjoyed hiking, skating, cross country skiing, playing dominoes and card games, watching old movies, going to baseball games and watching television shows like "Little House on the Prairie" and "Coach." Rhonda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Francis and Edna (Minchk) Hancock; and her paternal grandparents, Reese and Tina (Feenstra) Sweet. She is survived by her parents, John Sweet and Jean Sweet; sisters, Juliana Sweet and Brenda Sweet; brothers, John (Michelle) Sweet, Rick (Debra) Sweet, Randy Sweet and Daniel (Roxanne) Sweet; nieces, Tammy (Todd) Koch, Jennifer (Michael) Wagner, Heather Koch, Renee (Christian) Holland, Darcie Koch, Sharona Sweet, Jennah Sweet, Cassandra Sweet and Felicia Sweet; nephews, Joseph Sweet, Jacob Sweet, Jesse Sweet, Bradley Sweet, Kyle Sweet, Shawn Sweet and Matthew Sweet. Rhonda is further survived by many aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of loyal friends. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 2 to 3 P.M. followed by a memorial service at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
