Mrs Haertel was the reason I lived and loved dance and theatre . I was in her very first class . There was no one more graceful, more kind and more elegant. I always wanted to be she when I grew up. When ever she walked into a room smelling of ‘White Shoulders’ I knew I was in the presence of beauty. My life of entertaining began in that little studio in Wisconsin Rapids Wisconsin and i shall forever be grateful.

Dear Cynthia and family, I am so sorry for your loss..... I too have such fond memories of your Mom and you and dance classes and recitals ...... I was just looking at a few pictures that I have that came as Christmas cards way back when and it was such a magical time. I will always remember her perfume, elegance and yes, the tap-tap-tap of her cane .... and the excitement of running to the ballet bar and seeing the paper bags with our names on each one telling us what dance(s) we would be in for the recital and the material for the costumes to be made ...... we were all so very lucky to have your Mom's expertise to share with us in our little town.

Cynthia and family, Your Mom had such a tremendous impact on my life! From the time I first began Ballet lessons with her at 3 years old, she was a wonderful role model. Anytime I catch a scent of White Shoulders perfume, I find myself back in the studio, hearing the tapping of the cane, and seeing Mrs. Haertel's beautiful smile. She will be missed.
