Obituary of Dorothy P. Larson

Dorothy P. Larson, age 88, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Tuesday November 18, 2014 at Harmony Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Hanson will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Dorothy was born on March 28, 1926 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Roy and Beatrice (Harrington) Larson. She married Frank Larson on August 13, 1960 at the Little Brown Church in Nassau, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1977. Dorothy was blessed with three sons from a previous marriage. Dorothy worked as a telephone operator in Menomonie before the family relocated to Vesper. After the move she was employed at Sana Dairy as a laboratory technician. Dorothy was a hardworking, devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed golfing and being involved in card clubs. She was a Green Bay Packer and Badger fan. Dorothy was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and choir. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorothy is survived by her three sons: Daniel (Ann) Karnes of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Wayson "Buck" (Marita) Karnes of Waunakee, WI and Gary Karnes of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and her sister Ruth Hendrikson of Menomonie, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank and her sister Marvel Styer. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
