Obituary of Lois June Olson
Lois June Olson, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Nekoosa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards. Pastor Daniel Bohn will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the church.
Lois was born June 5, 1922 in Marshfield, WI to James and Martha (Stevens) Pierce. She was a homemaker. Lois and Asmund Olson were united in marriage August 18, 1941.
Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Port Edwards, and also a member of the Sons of Norway.
Lois enjoyed Crafting, Knitting and Crocheting. She also liked to picnic, dance, travel and garden. Lois enjoyed spending time in their screen porch watching wildlife. Most of all she liked spending time with her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her son: Wayne (Jackie) Olson of Nekoosa; four grandchildren: Ricky (Kris) Olson, Ryan (Leah) Olson, Kellie (Brian Zook) Olson, and Cory Olson; four great grandchildren: Tyler, Amber, Chyann and Alyssa; one great great granddaughter: Maci Olson; brother: Merlin (Harriet) Pierce; special niece: Joella (Dennis) Keuntjes, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Asmund, two sons: Allen and Gary, and sister: Avis Joosten, Rita Bordes, Gwendolyn Olson; brother: James Pierce; half brothers: Edwin Pierce, Henry Blanchard and George Blanchard, and half sister Emily Pierce.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.
