Obituary of Steven Michael Yusten

Steven Michael Yusten, age 67, of the Town of Grand Rapids, was ushered home to heaven Friday, December 5, 2014. He was at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Jonathan Jenks will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in the Town of Sherry. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church. Steven was born on July 16, 1947 to Adolph and Olive (Mueller) Yusten in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He attended and graduated Auburndale High School in 1965. Steven and Colleen were united in marriage February 24, 1968 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sherry, WI. He had worked for seven years at Weyerhauser in Marshfield, he then later worked for CPI Paperboard for 13.5 years and then at the Rapids Division and eventually joined the Corporate Crew until his retirement in 2007. At the age of 28, he placed his complete trust and confidence in Jesus Christ for salvation. This decision was the foundation on which Steve built the rest of his life. It was the purpose for his hunting, fishing, love for his family, and constant service to other people. He faithfully served at Calvary Baptist Church as a deacon, trustee, AWANA leader, and all around handyman. Steven is survived by his wife, Colleen; four children: Michael (Brenda) Yusten of Pell Lake, WI, Patricia (Scott) Smith, Sean (Deni) Yusten and Chad Yusten all of Wisconsin Rapids; 14 grandchildren; brothers:Dennis (Susan) Yusten of Bruce, WI, and Robert (Colleen) Yusten of Nekoosa and sister Annette (William) Harkness of Stevens Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol and brother Donald. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.
