Obituary of Violet Mae King
Violet "Vi" Mae King, age 100, long time resident of Wisconsin Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2014, in the presence of her loving family.
Services will be held at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards. Rev. Dean Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Coloma. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, and 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
Vi was born on May 8, 1914, in Chicago, IL to John and Albertine (Tenneson) Freeberg. Her family moved to the Rudolph/Wisconsin Rapids area when she was four years old. She married Arnold E. King on June 8, 1935, in her parents' home. Together Vi and Arnold ran a dairy farm and raised a family of six.
Vi was a precious and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a devout believer in her savior Jesus and was deeply devoted to Him and her family. She enjoyed visiting the elderly in nursing homes, and held women's bible studies in various homes over the years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and crafting cards and ceramics. Violet was a wonderful and giving person who will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she has touched.
Vi is survived by her children: Carol (Gerald) Christensen of Necedah, Thomas (Sherri) of Stephenson, MI, Peggy (David) Morton of Janesville, Arnold R. of Wisconsin Rapids and Theodore of Minneapolis, MN; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and her dear sisters Lillian Morrison and Evelyn Kuehl as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, her son Garfield "Gary" in 1997, and brothers: Edward, Howard, Earl and Kenneth.
Mother, we love you dearly and will see you in Heaven!
