Obituary of Robert C. Michalsen

Robert Carl Michalsen Jr., age 59, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away, Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev Kristi Kleinbeck will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home until the time of services. Robert Carl Michalsen was born on July 21, 1955 to Robert and Lillian (Andreasen) Michalsen Sr. in Wisconsin Rapids. He married Anne Hamm on February 13, 1986 in Wisconsin Rapids. Robert was employed by Del Monte Foods and helped at ODC. Robert had a passion for life; he enjoyed painting and playing guitar. He played with the Zypher's Drum and Bugle Corp. He loved to be outdoors and would often go camping, rock climbing and take road trips. Robert participated in renaissance fairs. He liked to play games, Dungeons and Dragons, Xbox, trivia and Facebook were his favorites. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He liked to spend time with his family and friends. Robert is survived by his children: Jessica (Edward) Colson of Stevens Point, WI, Alyssa (Jacob) Whitehead of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Cory Michalsen of Oak Creek, CO; grandchildren: Edward Jr., Chicago, Mackenzie, and Jorja Colson, Jacob Whitehead Jr.; mother Lillian Michalsen of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; brothers: Tom Michalsen of Orlando, FL, Jere Michalsen of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Paul Michalsen of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, as well as his close friend Rey Duran. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Michaelsen Sr. Memorials may be made to the family.
