Obituary of Danny Edward Hedin

Danny Edward Hedin, age 52, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Wisconsin Rapids Care Center. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Mary Lou Plummer will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Danny was born June 22, 1962 in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Ethelmae (Abel) Hedin Jr. He married Wanda Wallace at Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Edwards on January 16, 1988, and they were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Alora. Danny attended Lincoln High School and worked in the area as a roofer with Union Local #96. Danny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with friends. He was a passionate Green Bay Packer fan and loved his many pets. Danny is survived by mother, Ethelmae Hedin-Schulz of Wisconsin Rapids; his former wife, Wanda Glaza of Wisconsin Rapids and their daughter, Alora Hedin of Port Edwards; two sisters: Dawn Hedin of Wallops Island, VA and Barbara Hedin-Sturgis of Princess Anne, MD; nephews: Scott (Wendy) Sturgis and their children Zachary and Natalie and Shawn (fiancée Nancy) Sturgis and their son Dalton; special friend, Dale Sachs; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hedin Jr., brother, Dale Hedin, and step-father, Eric Schulz. Danny's family would like to thank the staff at the Wisconsin Rapids Care Center for their compassionate care and thoughtfulness.
