Obituary of Phyllis Carol McCarthy

Phyllis C. McCarthy, age 76, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday morning, January 23, 2015 at Riverview Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. Phyllis was born on October 25, 1938 to William H. and Dora (Westover) McCarthy in Wisconsin Rapids. She was employed by Motorola in Chicago, IL for over 25 years; until her retirement. After retirement Phyllis moved to Wisconsin Rapids to be with her family. Phyllis' favorite pastime was fishing, especially on Lake Sherwood. She was an avid Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan. Phyllis collected dolls and thimbles. Phyllis is survived by four sisters: Donna McCarthy, Beverly Kedrowski, Nancy Smith and Thea (Tom) Provost all of Wisconsin Rapids; three brothers: William (Karen) McCarthy Jr. of Vesper, Dennis McCarthy of King and Ronald (Donna) McCarthy of Nekoosa; as well as many nieces and nephews and her beloved fur babies: Patsy and Jinx. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Neoma Bruner and Marlene"Chuckie" McCarthy; brother Timothy McCarthy and two nieces and two nephews.
