Obituary of Marion Arndt
Marion R. Arndt, age 96, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on January 30, 2015 at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
A private family memorial service will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev Douglas Schalow will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Marion was born on February 22, 1918 to Joseph and Anna (Monson) Langlois in Ashland, Wisconsin. She was employed as a waitress at the Sugar Bowl restaurant, and a long time employee at Peterson's Grocery Store. Marion was united in marriage to Donald Arndt on July 13, 1941; he passed away on December 7, 1974.
Marion loved golfing and was a member of both Tri-City and Bull's Eye County Clubs. She also liked bowling and was on a bowling team for many years. Marion was an avid fan of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and even the Cubs. Marion was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ. She served as the Sunday school superintendent and sang in the choir. He husband Donald was a lay minister and served at many small churches in the area.
Marion is survived by her daughters Dannette Arndt of the Town of Rome, and Maridonn Ventris of Long Beach, CA, sister, Darlene (Harold) Palmer of Brainerd, MN, sister-in-law Dorothy Kopelke of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, grandson Daniel (Anna) Arndt, great granddaughters: Grace, Alexis, Lucianna and Teagan of Appleton as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
